Patrick Tomco, Ph.D., grew up in Palmer, Alaska and has taught chemistry at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) since 2011 as a Term Assistant Professor. In 2017, Dr. Tomco became an Associate Professor at UAA. He organized the UAA ACS undergraduate student chapter and was largely responsible for undergraduate programming at NORM2016, held in Anchorage in June 2016.
Dr. Tomco is co-adviser of the Seawolf Chemistry Club and attended the ACS leadership conference in 2017 as the Alaska local section representative. He organizes the UA-wide chemistry alignment efforts, teaches organic chemistry, and his research is in the area of environmental organic chemistry.
In his spare time, Dr. Tomco enjoys bike riding, skiing, hunting, and fishing.
